Another flat belonging to UK City Minister Tulip Siddique has been found in London. The flat in north London was gifted to her family by a close aide of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

After the Financial Times, the UK media Sunday Times and The Telegraph have now published reports on the matter.

According to the Telegraph, Tulip Siddique was reportedly living in a second house given to her family by her aunt and a close associate of former Bangladeshi dictator Sheikh Hasina. Tulip Siddique is a member of Britain's ruling Labour cabinet, serving as Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister. Her job is to tackle corruption within the UK's financial markets.

According to the media, Tulip Siddique, the Treasury Minister responsible for combating financial crime and corruption, lived in a flat in Hampstead, north London. Tulip lived in the flat after giving it to her teenage sister Azmina for use.

The Sunday Times reported that in 2009, Bangladeshi lawyer Moin Gani transferred the flat in north London to Tulip's sister, Azmina Siddique. Azmina later gave Tulip the flat for free.

Tulip Siddique had previously acquired a two-bedroom apartment near London's King's Cross in 2004 without paying anything, the Financial Times reported on Friday, citing previously unpublished land registry filings.

The Financial Times report said that the two-bedroom flat in London's King's Cross area was gifted to Tulip in 2004 by a developer named Abdul Motalif. Motalif is known to be close to Sheikh Hasina, the ousted prime minister of Bangladesh and Tulip's aunt. Hasina resigned from the post of prime minister in August last year in the face of mass student and public protests and fled to India.

According to an investigation by the Financial Times, Abdul Motalif bought the flat in January 2001 for 195,000 pounds (293,000 taka in Bangladeshi currency). He got the flat quite cheaply. Because in August of the same year, another flat next to that flat was sold for 650,000 pounds (979,000 taka in Bangladeshi currency).
